After the 10 years of successful leadership in 150 cc segment of Indian Bike market, Bajaj Auto present the brand new pulser called pulser 200NS. Rajiv Bajaj, MD of the company said that the price is going to stay under Rs 1, 00,000 and the commercial launch is slated for April 2012.

The company has also unveiled a new triple spark technology. “You can expect some more triple spark motorcycle launches this year,” Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto said while unveiling the bike in Mumbai. He said that the company plans to produce more models with the same technology. The production of new Pulsar will begin at Bajaj’s Chakan plant. While the Pulsar of 2001 changed the image of the company from a scooter manufacturer to one that specialises in premium mobikes, the new Pulsar seeks to further consolidate that position offering more power and efficiency without compromising on its fuel economy. The 200cc Pulsar takes over from the old 220cc version as the fastest motorcycle produced in India.

“The motorcycles it will compete with are in the R1-1.5 lakh range but you can expect this one to come at less than R1 lakh,” said Rajiv Bajaj, managing director, Bajaj Auto Ltd.

Powered by a first in class SOHC 4 valve triple spark engine, the new bike belts out 23.2 bhp power and 18.3 Nm torque. Last week saw Bajaj Auto launch the KTM Duke 200, which will now pave the way for a new brand positioning strategy. The 30 plus Probiking showrooms, which used to house the Pulsar and Avenger bikes. The KTM bikes are also part of this ‘flexible line’ which accounts for over 100,000 bikes each month.
