Kaspersky Lab along with DSCI to pramote Internet Safety Campaign

icsKaspersky Lab teams up with Data Security Council of India (DSCI) for the Internet Safety Campaign – Stop. Think. Connect India edition. The campaign aims to help all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online. STOP. THINK. CONNECT.™, as the name suggests, are the steps one should practice online: Stop (assess and consider), Think (apply thought) and then Connect (after due diligence).

 Internet Safety campaign is one of its kinds initiative in the form of a Street Play competition to increase the level of awareness on Internet Security. The campaign involves a college outreach programme in the top Indian metros – Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata. Colleges and Students can get their teams registered for the street play competition via www.facebook.com/stopthinkconnectindia. The participating team in each city will have to ideate and present a creative theatrical interpretation of key themes around Internet Safety. The first campaign started with grand event at Hindu College, Delhi followed by the second Internet Safety Campaign at Bangalore at Garden City College on 22nd Feb 2013 where the students performed street plays based on the internet safety themes.

Campaign attracted registrations and participation from colleges in and around Bangalore. Shortlisted teams included Christ College, Garden City College, St Joseph College, etc. performed the street plays based on themes like Internet Security starts with you, Identity theft, Virtual world are the threats real, taking control over your Digital Life, Online Gaming, Protecting your credentials, etc. Performance of each team was moderated by RJ Darius Sunawala, Fever 104FM, DCP Krishna Bhatt and Dr. Nagarathna. A, Chief investigator, Advanced Centre on Cyber Law and Forensics, Senior Assistant Prof of Law, NLSIU. The performance from each team was judged on the criteria of content research, direction, enactment, uniqueness and time adherence. Zealous Productions team from Christ College won the first prize. They were awarded with prize money of Rs. 50,000 for their fabulous performance, content, theme and presentation.  The awards were presented to the winning team by DCP Krishna Bhatt and RJ Darius Sunawala, Fever 104FM.
